Make Your Difference: Sustainability Leadership for Non-Sustainability Professionals
A nine-week online programme to help leaders, professionals and business owners champion sustainability in their work life – without having to become a full-on sustainability expert.
We know that many experienced leaders, professionals and business owners care deeply about the climate and environment crises.
Like us they worry about what our society and economy is doing to the rest of nature – and what it means for our families and for people across the world.
They’re taking action – changing their lifestyle, shifting to electric vehicles, eco-refurbishing their homes and much more.
Even if sustainability isn’t in their job description they bring their concern into their work life – encouraging their organisation and their profession to take more action, more urgently.
But despite making progress they sometimes feel…
Frustrated by colleagues and others who seem disinterested or overcautious;
Unsure that they are putting their energy where they can do most good;
Isolated without the support of knowledgeable peers who share their commitment.
Is this you? Do you want to…
Talk about sustainability with greater confidence, to engage people’s interest more successfully and find more common ground for action?
Cut through sustainability jargon to find the sweet spot where you, with your particular experience, connections and skills, can make the greatest difference?
Be part of a network of people who understand your hopes and concerns, who are skilled at supporting each other and generous with their expertise?
If so, we have made something for you…
Based on years of hard won experience and recent research, we have developed an inspiring yet practical online programme: Make Your Difference: Sustainability Leadership for Non-Sustainability Professionals.
We are now launching a pilot so we can learn from participants’ experience to refine the programme’s scope, contents and methods.
The pilot programme will run with a small group of participants with live input and coaching from three Natural Change sustainability experts.
It will be a rare opportunity to benefit from high quality training at reduced cost. At the same time you will be helping to shape the final programme, enabling many more purpose-led professionals to be part of the change the world so urgently needs.
Contact Osbert Lancaster, Natural Change director and programme leader, to find out more about programme and how you can join:
“I was overwhelmed by the enormity of the climate crisis, not knowing how to make our work impactful and meaningful. I couldn’t identify where to put my energy. Now I am much more confident with a clear purpose and direction.”
Isabelle Kolebinov
Policy and Advocacy Coordinator, Child Rights International Network. Mentoring client.
“Without a doubt I would recommend it. It’s one of the best things I’ve done in personal and professional development.”
Participant in a previous programme, recognised by UNESCO
The pilot programme is led by sustainability leadership experts Osbert Lancaster, Morag Watson and Richard Profit.

Osbert has been supporting people to take on leadership for sustainability for over twenty years. He has supported numerous organisation to design and deliver sustainability strategies and developed the University of Edinburgh’s first online, part-time, MSc for professionals seeking to bring sustainability into their work.
Morag is a climate change and sustainability policy expert and former UNESCO adviser. She has been advising individuals, organisations and governments on sustainability, leadership and change strategies for over fifteen years. Osbert and Morag’s previous sustainability leadership programme was recognised by UNESCO for its contribution to UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.
